The Novo Esthetics HUNA Facial
You know that spa facial you see in movies where steamed towels, resurfacing scrubs, and magical serums abound? The kind where, whilst you wait for the various masques to take effect, your feet, legs, arms, and hands are treated to massage by trained hands? Where all of the products smell heavenly, feel decadent, and leave you glowing afterward? THAT FACIAL IS REAL YOU GUYS. I was treated to the HUNA facial at Novo Esthetics the other day and can personally attest. 🙌
First a quick recap of my skin journey because other than SPF, I was really late in caring for my skin. Last year, I discovered a couple serums from that I enjoy (Apotheca Borealis, Naked Kitty) as well as an exfoliator (Viva Amaze), but I’d been bouncing around with cleansers until I met my match with HUNA’s Cleansing Creme. And truly, the whole HUNA Revitalize line has been excellent for my skin: the Botanical Mist, Eye Firming Cream, and Age Grace Serum. As for facials, my count is now up to three: a Hydrofacial (based on extractions with very short-term effects for me, about 3 days), a Bōbé Beauty signature treatment (using Italian facial reflexology, it’s a healing process for your skin and whole self), and the HUNA facial at Nova which is, again, deep and luxe. The three facials are so different, but ooooh lemme gush about this latest treatment— I’ve been doing a lot of that when I get compliments on my skin. And yeah, that’s happening!
Beyond her industry credentials and experience, Novo Esthetics Owner Vicki Aitken is a calming, welcoming energy to be around. Even before we met, I appreciated her intentional language of inclusivity to bodies and genders on the Novo Instagram page. And a few people had told me how great Vicki is as both a person and a facialist, so I did go in with good expectations… but holy moly can the lady give a facial treatment that makes you feel like a movie star. It’s a feeling that can only be described in emojis: 🤪🤯🤩🥰😁

Vicki is a Master Pedicurist, body sugaring expert and educator, and fully certified esthetician. We began by talking about my skin concerns which are essentially sun damage, aging, and the occasional hormonal breakout. She identified the HUNA Revitalize facial as being the right fit for me, which professionally utilizes the products I use at home, plus two masques and an exfoliator. Other available options are the HUNA Clarifying facial for acne-prone skin (extractions are optional) and the HUNA Nourishing facial for skin prone to eczema, dermatitis, or rosacea.

I’m telling you, I went to my first dinner party in months the day after this treatment and my friends commented on my skin. Thanks to HUNA and this fantastic Novo facial, my skin is looking better after quarantining for months as a stay-at-home mom… which is nuttypants because most of my “self-care breaks” were totally derailed by suddenly having no school, activities, or mom hangouts to rely on.
I highly reccomend the HUNA facial treatments at Novo Esthetics and can’t imagine anyone not feeling the same. The HUNA products smell amazing, the effectiveness is based in plant science, the application itself is DIVINE, and my skin is really having its moment!
