The 5 Biggest Post-Pandemic Hair Trends
The world is coming out of a looooong hibernation, finally bidding farewell to Zoom style. Now that friends can see us with 360 degree views, pulled-back ponies with split ends are suddenly on display and collectively, we’re feeling it’s time to freshen up. Hairstylists will attest that their clients are ready to step back into style, but after being cooped up for so long, inspo might be required. That’s why I asked five of Saskatoon’s top stylists from Visions Salon & Spa to share their picks for the 5 biggest post-pandemic hair trends. Which hair trend will speak most to you? Read on & get inspired!
Oh Naturel
Did you get used to low-maintenance, natural locks during lockdown but want an extra glow? Then this trend is for you! By adding a few strategically placed highlights we able to bring this natural strawberry blonde the next level! The best part is that with a seamlessly blended root, the grow-out will not be a concern. -Alyx
The Summer Shag
This shag cut feels festival-ready with a light, airy texture. It’s a great choice for those with natural wavy texture to allow for fun, uncomplicated, easy styling with volume and movement. -Rhoda
The Money Piece
The bright, face-framing highlight also known as a “money piece” is great for spicing up your usual balayage. It’s perfect for clients who like a more natural grow out but still want that pop of brightness around the face. -Brooke
Color blocking
Color blocking has become an absolute favorite of mine! It’s gives clients the chance to try out something bright and new without committing to a full head of fun color. Square, star, heart-shaped, and halo sections are just a few of the many options you have when creating this style. There are endless possibilities with this amazing colouring technique! -Abby
Babylights
Babylights are very natural, fine, blended highlights that give the appearance of beautiful sun-kissed hair. Babylights are done in a foil and you have the option to take babylights right to the root or to have a grown-out babylight with the rooted look. Babylights look great on anyone who wants a pop of brightness or an all over lighter blended colour. -Amanda
I’m not always a “trend person” but I’m loving all of these! That colour blocking is SO COOL, it makes me want to take a leap… but for now, my new money piece is all the change I needed (that’s a coin pun). Thank you so much to Alyx, Amanda, Rhoda, Brooke, and Abby at Visions Salon and Spa in Saskatoon for putting this list together. If you’re feeling inspired to book an appointment, I have always loved my hair after a Visions appointment. Give them a call and freshen up.
