Little Bird High Tea: a YXE must-do
Many moons ago, when Little Bird Patisserie closed their beautiful Saskatoon bakery, I bemoaned the fact that I’d never done its talked-about High Tea. I had worked a block away at the time so their croissants, macarons, and specialty coffees were a staple for me on the weekdays but come Sunday, it fell off my radar. So when The Shoppe brought forth a revival of our beloved Little Bird, giving their patisserie room in their River Landing location, I was absolutely delighted to hear that High Tea was returning. It was finally my time to shine!! And only months after the launch, I got around to booking. Oops. What took me so long?
If you haven’t yet experienced the delight that is Little Bird High Tea, my short review is to book and enjoy. Bookings are on the hour every Sunday 11-3 and at $45 per person, the value is definitely there.
The experience is unique and the food is delicious. The menu rotates according to seasons and trends but ours featured crudite, berries and cream, savoury bites, and a variety of sweet treats including the famous Little Bird macarons.
Picture windows look out to the river, the Shoppe’s space is whimsical and pretty… it’s a recipe for a good mood. My mom and I had a lovely experience, feeling spoiled and fancy.
Whether you dress up or come “as is”, you’ll feel comfortable and welcome at The Shoppe. It’s a perfect date with your mama, friend, significant other, or group.
And here’s another fun piece of news: I’ll be gifting a Little Bird High Tea for Two booking to a lucky Instagram follower! From now until Thursday October 6, find the High Tea reel on my page to enter. I host a lot of great giveaways but this one might take the cake (that’s a patisserie pun). Head on over to @sneaksandlipstick and get your name into the draw! Winner will be announced Friday morning.
