On now- Suitcase Stories, created and performed by Maki Yi at Studio 914. With only a tiny suitcase in tow, Maki Yi leaves her home in South Korea and winds up in Regina. She finds that her new life in Canada is both everything she hoped for and the most difficult thing she has ever faced. $15+

On now- The Boat by Todd Devonshire at The Refinery. Produced by Highway 55 with Live Five. The Boat tells the story of Carmen and Jane, two doctors in the 1960s, who have set up a boat clinic off the coast of Nova Scotia, in international waters, and under the flag of a country in which abortion is not a crime. There, they offer pregnant women a safe environment in which to make a choice. But not everyone who boards the boat is telling the truth. $32, $27/artists, students, seniors

On now- Champetre County Sleigh Rides Plus, explore the Lost Corral Maze, say Howdy to the barn animals and warm up by the campfire or in the Saloon with some tasty hot chocolate $27, $22/under 9

Fri 4:30-7pm- Piano Friday at The Bassment with Kim Salkeld Go enjoy the tinkling of the ivories, no cover.

Fri 3pm (pipe ceremony) 6-11pm- Kitoteminawak Council Round Dance at Oskayak High School, free and open to all

Fri 6pm- Catch the Wave at Grace Westminister. Spoken Word with EcoAboriJanelle & music with Dwayne Lasas. Hosted By Brian Paul D.G. and Friends. Pot Luck at 6, Variety Show at 7:15, Jam 9:30-10. $10–$20

Fri 7pm- Saskatoon Blades Hockey, check out family packs for $60

Fri 7-11pm- Salsa at the Legion Learn the basics of Salsa with Jayli 7-8pm and then dance the night away! No cover.

Fri 8pm- Saskatoon Soaps Improv Comedy: Big Improv is Lying to You at Broadway Theatre, $16

Fri-Sun- SaskMusic Metal Conference Take in some cherrypicked Sask metal bands or be a part of the conference. If you are a musician with any sort of rock edge, don’t miss the opportunity to hear & connect with speakers in the industry. You’ll hear from established artists, radio and media, bookers, and the folks who intimately know how funding works. $115/ registration or $75/members. Or just attend shows separate from the conference (listed in my “live music & more” section)

Sat, two morning workshops- Beginner Pysanky Workshop at Ukrainian Museum of Canada Learn the intricate wax-resist technique used to decorate these beautiful Easter eggs. You’ll create your own pysanka to take home. $35

Sat 1-4pm- Museum of Antiquities Kids’ Crafternoon Step into ancient Egyptian history & sculpt your own protective amulet of Bes, an ancient Egyptian god that protects children and their families. Aimed at kids aged 6-10, participants of all ages are welcome. Free!

Sat 2-6pm- Saskatoon Salsa costume sale

Sat 2-4pm- Fibre drop-in demonstrations & discussion at Sask Craft Council gallery with Janice Sanford Beck, as part of the Prairie Fibre Full Circles exhibit on now, free

Sat 3-6pm- “Compressed” exhibition by Akshara Dash at BAM. Who owns your data after you die? Through physical artefacts, this is an exploration of the nature of digital media.

Sat 3pm- Elisa Harkins at Remai Modern Riverview Room As part of the exhibition Great Plains Series (GPS): Points of Return / Spaces of Departure, artist and composer Elisa Harkins will lead an Indigenous hand drum singing and drumming workshop, followed by an acoustic performance. This gathering extends her ongoing project Teach Me a Song, in which Indigenous people share songs in a spirit of reciprocity, care, and cultural continuity. Followed by tea & bannock. Harkins is also performing at PAVED Arts in the evening.

Sat 6pm- 19+ Meewasin Sip n Skate at Cameco Rink Learn what Meewasin does to conserve and protect the River Valley while enjoying a hot bevvy, a skate without the crowds, and delicious local treats by the fire. $68

Sat 4pm- Coldest Night of the Year walk in support of YWCA

Sat 6-8pm- Kilt Skate at Crossmount hosted by the Saskatoon Highland Dancing Association and the Saskatoon Celtic Festival. Wear a kilt, or as much tartan as you can! Put on your skates and enjoy the scenic skate pond, warm fire pit, and indoor cidery with drink and food specials. Wearing a kilt?! Receive $2 off a mulled cider. Free admission

Sat 6-10pm- The Rhinestone Cowgirl Early Birds Bash at Sutherland Hall in Saskatoon from. For women who want to dance, laugh, and connect, all without a late night. $43

Sat 7:30pm- WIlliam Prince stand up comedy at TCU Place, $62+

Sat 6:15pm-Sun 1am & Sun 6:45am-5:30pm- Be part of the Telemiracle live audience at Prairieland TeleMiracle is a 20-hour, annual telethon that is broadcast live in Saskatchewan. Despite only having a population around 1.2 million people, the generous residents of the province have helped raise over $171 million since 1977.

Sat & Sun 11am-4pm-Modern Artmakers all-ages drop-in workshop at Remai Modern by donation, free for members & youth under 18

Sun 11am-3pm- One Day Choir at Free Flow Dance Centre No auditions, no age limit, no concert — just one day a month where anyone in the Saskatoon area is invited to come workshop a single song! This month, you’re invited to come sing Still The One by Shania Twain. Free, donations toward room rental welcome but not expected.

Sun 1-4:30pm- Skijoring at Optimist Hill Come watch, enjoy a bevy or BBQ, or even test your skills being pulled by a horse. Open to any age or skill level. There will be jumps and two tracks separated by age/skill level. $5 entry

Sun 3pm- Discovering the Amatis concert at Convocation Hall, U of S. Featuring violinist Elation Pauls, the Amati instruments are rare 17th Century beauties. $11

Sun 7pm- Live with Econoline Crush & Big Wreck at SaskTel Centre, $45+
